These are old utilities that I no longer maintain. Perhaps you will find them useful.


A fast multi-file search/replace utility for Windows 9x/2000/XP: searches folders and files for certain text and replaces them with other text. Although it is safe for binary files (won’t corrupt them), you can’t pull off tricks like search/replacing text of one length with another of shorter or longer length in executable files or even Word files.

  • Download version 1.1.0 (self-extracting installer, 146k; also no-install ZIP, 126k), Windows 9x/2000/XP
  • Version 1.1.0, released July 26, 2005 fixes crash under Windows XP (and possibly all versions of Windows 2000 and above)


Decodes URL-encoded strings (such as name=John+Doe&location=Super%2C%7DUSA) into a much-easier to read format.

Back in early 1996, I designed these levels for Doom II:

  • The Dig: A five- (or six?) island level inspired by an old Lucasarts game “The Dig”. Teleport and kill! (WADinfo)
  • Super Base: A relatively straightforward level with lots of monsters (try the Ultra Violence difficulty level). (WADinfo)
